Mokady Moshe

Moshe Mokady, Painter, Stage Designer. Was born in 1902, Tarnow, Poland. Immigrated 1920. 

Studies: Vienna and Zurich, art and music. 

Teaching: Art and music, Haifa; 1952-65 Director of Avni Institute, Tel Aviv. 

Prizes: 1937, 1942, 1950-51 Dizengoff Prize. 

Mokady lived in Paris in 1927-30.

1949 First art adviser to Ministry of Education and Culture. 

He was founder of the Artists’ Village, Ein Hod, where he lived from 1965 until his death in 1975. 

Selected Exhibitions: 1952, 1958 Biennale, Venice and 1955 Sao Paulo; solo – 1932, 1939, 1949, 1954, 1958, 1962, 2000 Tel Aviv Museum.
