Lifshitz Uri

Uri Lifshitz, Painter and Sculptor. Was born in 1936, Givat Hashlosha, Israel. 
Self-taught. 

Prizes: 1965 Youth Prize in Exhibition of Young Israeli Artists; 1966 Marc Chagall Fellowship; Kolb Prize, Tel Aviv Museum; 1982 Dizengoff Prize.

1971, 1973, 1978 worked in Spain. 

His early work was characterized by a lyrical abstraction style. In the early 1960s he changed directions into figurative art. He never received formal training but studied briefly with artist Haim Kave.

Lifshitz died of cancer at the age of 75, May 28th, 2011
