Dorchin Yaacov

Yaacov Dorchin, Sculptor and painter, was born in 1946, Haifa.

Teaching: Oranim Art Institute, Tivon, sculpture; 
Since 1991 Teaches at the dep. of the Arts of Haifa University, 1997-2001 Head of the dep. of the Arts. 

Prizes: 1985 The Oscar Hendler Prize, Kibbutz Lohamei Haghetaot; 1989 Minister of Education Prize for a Young Artist; 1993 The Nahum Gutman Histadrut Prize for Painting and Sculpture; The Israel Discount Prize Bank, The Tel Aviv Museum; 1998 Gilman-Ettinger purchase Fund, Tel Aviv Museum; 2000 Haifa Museum Award for Art, in memory of the late Manzi Aptowitzer for achievement in contemporary creative arts. 2004 Emet Prize along with Yair Garbuz. 

1990 Participated in Venice Biennale. 

Public Places Sculptures: Open Museum, Tefen; Herzlia; Haifa University. Head of Creative Art Faculty, Haifa University. 

Member of Kibbutz Kfar Hahoresh.
