Berger Genia

Genia Berger, Painter and Stage Designer was born 1907 in Kharkov, Russia. 
Immigrated 1926. 

Studies: Sculpture with Leonardo Bloch, Kharkov; 1925 with Willy Wikel, Berlin; advanced studies, 1928 architecture; 1930-33 Art Academy, Berlin, with K. Hoffert; 1935-37 Grande Chaumiere, Paris. 

Prizes: Histadrut Prize; Golomb Prize, Artists’ Village, Ein Hod; 1971 Ministry of Education and Culture Prize; 1984 Association of Stage Designers in Israel. 

Worked for Habimah and Ohel Theatres, Tel Aviv. 

A founder of Ein Hod Artists’ Village. 

Died September 2000.
